How Does it Work?

Stage 1: Internship Search

In conjunction with our staff, we will work with you to identify companies and organizations that fit with your career goals. Then, together we will contact them to set up a short introductory meeting. In total, you will attend close to 7 meetings and out of these, we expect you to receive 3 internship offers. Of these offers, select the one that offers the best work experience along with the highest likelihood of turning into a full-time job!

Stage 2: Internship

New graduates are often missing the skills necessary to be proficient at their job. Through your 10 week work experience, you will learn the exact skills needed to accomplish work specific tasks. Also, employers often use this time to evaluate you and if you show commitment, hard work, integrity, and fit into their team, you will likely be offered a position after your work placement. Be ready to work a minimum of 30 hours a week in a job you love! Starting wage is limited to $8.00 - $12.00 per hour with most interns earning $10.00 per hour. Once the internship turns into a full time position, you can anticipate wages at the current market rate.

Please note that once you have an internship offer from a company or organization that you are excited to work for, the remainder of our program fee becomes due. This can be paid for monthly from your internship wages.

Stage 3: Obtaining a Job In Your Field

Thus far 80% of interns have been hired as full time employees for the organizations they did their internship with.
   
Spike Lee's career in filmmaking, which includes "She's Gotta Have It", "Do the Right Thing", and "Malcolm X" was prefaced by an internship. After graduating from Morehouse College in 1979 before enrolling in NYU's Institute of Film and Television, he spent a summer interning at the Columbia Pictures Studio in Burbank, California.
